Emergency/Budget Menu Plans
March 11, 2008
With gas prices going up yet again and daycare fees burning a hole in my pocket, I am looking at what to cut in my budget. Normally, the first thing to go is eating out followed by cutting down on the grocery bill. Is is possible to feed a family of four on $60, $40 or even $20 a week? Sometimes it is tough, but it can be done with a little planning.
HillbillyHousewife.com is a website dedicated to eating on the cheap. The site boasts an “Emergency $45 Menu” and an “Emergency $70 Menu.” I’m not saying that these menus would suit my particular family, but it does give some great ideas.
I also saw the $20 Budget Menu in another blog. It had some great ideas.
I plan on posting how I save at the grocery store and my budget menus. Just have to get my act together first!!!
